Emmanuel College belongs to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), while Worcester Polytech Institute (WPI) is a part of the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC).
WPI Women’s Volleyball had fifteen wins and five losses overall (three wins and five losses within their conference) going into the match, while Emmanuel Women’s Volleyball had eight wins and thirteen losses in total (three wins and six losses versus other GNAC teams).
Emmanuel College Women’s Volleyball faced off against the WPI Engineers at home on Thursday, October 21st at 7:00PM. The first set was even scoring until about halfway through when WPI took control of the match and went on to win 25-11.
WPI carried the momentum of the first set into the second set and went on to defeat the Saints 25-11. After falling behind early in the third set, Emmanuel clawed back into the match but fell short 25-19. WPI improved to sixteen wins and three losses on the season. Emmanuel’s record now stands at eight wins and fourteen losses overall.
The regular season wraps up for the Saints with back-to-back home games at 9:00AM and 11:00AM on Saturday, October 30th against Albertus Magnus College and Colby-Sawyer College.
